Simple beginnings
I have been a chicken enthusiast for the last few years and started with just 4 hens in my back garden. Feathers, Peckers, Mrs. Fowler and Mollie soon became a great hit with my children and their friends. The excitement of collecting fresh eggs each day never diminished. I enjoy the fact that I know where the eggs come from and have absolute control over what my hens eat and the conditions in which they live.
I soon moved on to trying my hand at incubation. Seeing chicks emerge from the egg after 21 days was a magical experience and one I have never tired of. I’ve even managed to extend the experience in to my son’s classroom which caused a lot of excitement in the whole school.
My interest in chickens has grown and now I offer people a chance to have a part of that.
Harper's Hens
Harper's Hens offers the public the chance to own chickens in their own back garden. We are committed to providing the skills, products and organically fed chickens to enable the chicken enthusiast to fulfil their goal having fresh eggs straight from their garden.
Harper's Hens advocates raising chickens on grass and allowing them the freedom to carry out their natural behaviour.
